Herbalism 1-375 Leveling Guide

Herbalism 1 - 375 Leveling Guide

This guide is our way of helping all you "flower-pickers" out there, you know who you are. This guide is what we have found to be the best way to "power level" the Herbalism profession in World of Warcraft. While not as difficult as some of the creation professions to level, it still takes some know how to track down all the herbs that will give you enough skill points to hit the top.

The main restriction on leveling herbalism is your characters level, since to find the herbs that provide skill points you need to move into progressively higher level zones. Many players find it easier to level past the zone requirement before power leveling through herbalism for that area, as they will not be so worried about being jumped by the MOBs in the area. I would recommend that while leveling your character, grab any herbs that you can see, but don't go out of your way looking for them. Once the MOBs in the zone are easy, then race around "flower picking".

Table of Contents

Skill Herbs to Gather Zones to Gather in and Reasons

Apprentice Herbalist

1-50
  • Silverleaf
  • Peacebloom
These are found in large numbers in all starting zones, and should not be hard to find at all. I have not heard of anyone having issues getting enough herbs without even trying hard.
50-70
  • Mageroyal
  • Earthroot

Alliance players can find concentrations of Mageroyal in Westfall along the northern coast and on the path to Sentinel hill.

Horde players will find more than enough mageroyal and earthroot in the north west areas of the Barrens, from the Crossroads up through the entrance to Stonetalon Mountains..

70-100
  • Briarthorn
Both factions have several options however the best for both is the same areas described above as you can continue to gather the other herbs.

Journeyman Herbalist

100-115
  • Bruiseweed

Alliance should gather around Stonewatch keep in the Redridge Mountains or in western Ashenvale if you are a night elf.

Horde can find large amounts near Splintertee Post in Ashenvale or in the Stonetalon Mountains while moving between Malaka'jin, Grimtotem Post and Camp Aparaje.

115-125
  • Wild Steelbloom

Alliance players should search the Wetlands around the angerfang encampment and Whelgar's Excavation site along the mountains, and the area around the Alliance flightpoint in Stonetalon Peak.

For Horde players the best two places are the southern Barrens (between the tow razorfen areas and the field of giants) and in Thousand Needles from the Greatlift to Highperch.

125-160
  • Kingsblood
Depending on where you are currently leveling you can find large amounts in Ashenvale, the Wetlands, Hillsbrad Foothills and the Swamp of Sorrows.

Expert Herbalist

160-185
  • Fadeleaf
The greatest concentration of this herb can be found in the Swamp of Sorrows.
185-205
  • Khadgar's Whisker
The best place to level with this is to do full circuits of the Hinterlands. However if you are still in need of Fadeleaf either for alchemy or sale, then you can find decent amounts in the Swamp of Sorrows as well.
205-230
  • Firebloom
There is lots of Firebloom in both the Searing Gorge and the Blasted Lands, but they are spaced out and you need to wander the zones repeatedly.

Artisan Herbalist

230-250

  • Sungrass

The two best places to find sungrass are in Felwood and Feralas.

In Felwood you need to weave back and forth throughout the zone to find it, while in Feralas you can find it in the northwest corner and again acour Camp Mojache.

250-270
  • Gromsblood

You can find this along the same path in Felwood as you found Sungrass. In fact its probably the best place becayse you can keep finding Sungrass and other herbs to use or sell.

The other place to look for a decent quantity of Gromsblood is in the Blasted Lands, although it tends to be spread out so takes some time to find.

270-285
  • Dreamfoil
The best place for Dreamfoil is in Un'goro Crater, doing full laps throughout the zone gets you a ton of it. If you want to adventure elsewhere though, you can find a decent amount north of the Ruins of Eldareth in Azshara.
285-300
  • Plaguebloom
  • Icecap
Here you have a choice, you can either hunt for Plaguebloom throughout the Plaguelands (both East and West) or collect Icecap in Winterspring. Both are good options and your choice should depend on which isnt being farmed by other players, or where you have quests your working on.

Master Herbalist

The Burning Crusade

At this point things you need to have the Burning Crusade to continue, as you can not train otherwise.

300-340
  • Various

With everyone hunting out everything in the Outlands, it is by far faster to skill up by heading into Felwood and picking everything you can. Sure some of it is green from 300, but some others dont turn green untill 330 so even though you will not gain a skill point every time, you will get skill points and almost no one else will be there. The things to grabe include: Plaguebloom, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silvesage, Sungrass, Arthas' Tears, and Purple Lotus.

340-375
  • Various

There are many differnt herbs taht will give you skill points here, and all of them can be found in Zangarmash. There really is no better place to go. Your main herbs will be Felweed, Ragveil, and Dreaming Glory.

One of the best places to skill up in the zone is the west side of the map around the Bog Giants and Bog Lords. Besides having lots of herbs in this area, once you kill the Bog Beasts you can pick thier bodies for additional herbs.

While you could explore higher level areas for herbs, this is the fastest way to skill up.
