I finally hit 60 this past weekend and decided to update my leveling guide, filling in the last 10 levels. So here it is folks, hope you enjoy.
As many of you soloing mages already know, once you get into your 30s your choice of quests to solo become much smaller as most of the quests have become Elite and non-soloable. What I'm doing here is writing a little guide for the Mage community on places and mobs that I xp'd on to get to 60.
First thing I did when soloing was to try to find mobs that for one reason or another dropped faster or were just easier to xp against than others. Some things I'd look for were mob hp, damage taken by spells and how hard the mob hit. Another aspect that came up by accident was mob pathing. With one group of mobs in particular, due to their pathing, I was able to cast up to 5 fireballs on them before they reached me.
Finally I am an Undead Mage on a PvP server so some of the zones I've xp'd in were more Horde controlled contested zones, like Thousand Needles and Swamp of Sorrows.
Levels 28-30

Level obtained = 20
Armor = cloth, leather(use leather when you have a choice)
Weapon of choice = Dagger until lvl 10, then Duel Wield Daggers
Leveling Difficulty = Medium

The Rouge Leveling 1-20

Forget everything you were ever told about the warlock class… This is not a warlock… It is a Vampire with a pet, life leech, mana drain, drain soul… I would describe the Warlock as a glass cannon but that simply would not fit as the glass part is correct but the cannon part is not.
Race played = Orc
Level obtained = 15
Armor = cloth only
Weapon of choice = dagger/offhand, Wand (at levels 15-20 you will find items that you may hold in your off hand that have stat adds like “branches” and “orbs” and other items. So it may be advisable to go dagger at level 10 to get that weapon skill raised. Wands, I believe are broke as of the Open Beta, but I still equipped one for the stat adds :)
Leveling Difficulty = Medium - Hard

Anyway, as I said before I took this from several sources and while I wish I could give them credit not I cannot for the life of me find them again. At this point I have added a few new things that are either from me or were suggested here. Thanks to everyone and please keep suggesting things!!
Leveling 1-10
Here we go! To level anything from 1-10 will take you about 3 hours, maybe a bit longer if you’re new to WoW. I won’t bother telling you how. Essentially you run around the newbie area completing some newbie quests, and then you run out to the next newbie area and complete some more newbie quests..
